Inaugural Session - Lightening of the lamp and addressing the students
LECTURE: The Chief Guest, Smt. Roshni Aparanji Korati, IAS, Deputy Chairperson, Visakhapatnam Port Authority, delivered the Inaugural Address. She spoke on the current investment landscape of Andhra Pradesh, highlighting the key policy initiatives and infrastructure developments undertaken by the state to attract both domestic and foreign investment. She further stressed the significance of sustainable development as a guiding principle for all future economic planning in the state.
LECTURE: The Guest of Honour, Prof. M. Prasada Rao, Former Head, Department of Economics and Former Rector, Andhra University, Visakhapatnam, delivered the Keynote Address. He spoke on the theoretical foundations of investment and inclusive growth, drawing from decades of academic research and teaching experience in the field of Economics. He elaborated on the historical trajectory of economic development in Andhra Pradesh, highlighting the structural challenges and opportunities that have shaped the state.
LECTURE: The Guest of Honour, Dr. K.
Suneetha, Associate Professor and Former Head, Department of Applied
Psychology, GITAM School of Humanities and Social Science, GITAM University,
Visakhapatnam, addressed the gathering with a unique interdisciplinary
perspective. She spoke on the psychological dimensions of inclusive growth,
emphasizing that sustainable development is not merely an economic phenomenon
but is deeply rooted in the mental well-being, motivation, and social
consciousness of individuals and communities. She highlighted how behavioural
and psychological factors influence investment decisions, entrepreneurial
mindset, and community participation in development processes.

LECTURE: Prof. B. Lily Grace Eunice, Head, Department of Economics and Honorary Director of the Agro-Economics Research Centre, Andhra University, Visakhapatnam, delivered the Valedictory Address as the Chief Guest of the concluding session. She commended the Department of Economics, SJCW, for organizing a seminar of such academic relevance and national significance, and appreciated the enthusiasm and active participation of the students and researchers throughout the two days.. She concluded by encouraging students to pursue research in the field of economics with dedication and a sense of social responsibility, reminding them that true development is measured by the well-being of the last person in society. The valedictory address was received with great appreciation and left the participants deeply motivated and inspired as they concluded two days of enriching academic engagement.
LECTURE: Prof.
K. Parameswara Rao, Department of Economics, Andhra University, Visakhapatnam,
addressed the gathering as the Distinguished Guest during the Valedictory
Session. He spoke extensively on the macroeconomic dimensions of investment and
its role in shaping the growth trajectory of Andhra Pradesh. He highlighted the
significance of public investment in infrastructure, agriculture, and human
capital development as essential drivers of inclusive and sustainable growth.
He further elaborated on the need for sound economic policies that attract
private investment while ensuring equitable distribution of resources across
all regions of the state.
LECTURE: Prof.
B. Nalini, Head, Department of Applied Psychology, GITAM School of Humanities
and Social Science, GITAM University, Visakhapatnam, delivered an engaging and
thought-provoking address during the Valedictory Session. She approached the
theme of inclusive growth from a psychological and human-centered perspective,
emphasizing the importance of mental well-being and social inclusion in the
development process. She highlighted how psychological empowerment of
marginalized communities, women, and youth is a prerequisite for achieving
truly inclusive and sustainable development.
STUDENT PRESENTERS: The Two-Day The National Seminar also provided a valuable platform for student participants from various colleges and universities to present their research papers and seminar presentations on themes aligned with Investment, Inclusive Growth, and Sustainable Development in Andhra Pradesh. Students showcased commendable research acumen and analytical thinking, presenting well-structured papers that reflected their understanding of contemporary economic challenges and policy frameworks. The presentations covered a wide range of sub-themes, including regional investment patterns, women's economic, sustainable development goals, demonstrating the breadth and depth of student engagement with the seminar's core theme.
